Interactive Session on "Contemporary issues in Marketing"

Jagan Institute of Management Studies organized an interactive session on the “Contemporary issues in Marketing” on 16th November, 2013 for its PGDM Batch 2013-2015 students. The key resource persons of the session were Mr.Nishant Bhaskar, Territory Manager - Airtel and Mr. Dwijesh Tiwari, Sr. Sales Officer - Godrej Product Limited.

The session started with Mr. Bhaskar speaking about the developing role of marketing in a modern organization viz analyzing the strategic role of marketing in modern organizations faced with an increasingly competitive economic growth, identifying the role of marketing in each business type whether product or service based , and for profit and not-for-profit.

Later in the session, Mr Tiwari coined the thought that most important is evaluating the core marketing concept of customer satisfaction and examining the how the needs and demands can be satisfied through effective marketing and thus enabling the organization to maximize their profits (central mission of any organization).

Further the session was open to discussion for a Question Answer Round and various questions on the role of digital marketing, social media marketing and how the virtual world has totally changed the concept of marketing were addressed during the session.

Overall it was a great interactive and a learning experience for the students.
