B.A.(Hons.)(Economics)
COURSE OBJECTIVE
The Bachelor of Economics (Honours) is 4 year UG Programme at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) in Delhi. It is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of economic theories, quantitative methods, and their practical applications. The primary objectives of the program are:
- 1. Foundation in Economic Theory: Equip students with a solid grounding in both microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, enabling them to analyse individual, firm, and national economic behaviours
- 2. Quantitative and Analytical Skills: Develop proficiency in statistical and mathematical techniques essential for economic analysis and research.
- 3. Application of Economic Concepts: Encourage the practical application of economic theories to real-world scenarios, fostering the ability to address contemporary economic issues.
- 4. Research Competence: Promote the development of research skills through projects and internships, preparing students for advanced studies or professional roles in economics.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates with an aggregate of 50% marks in 10+2 level examination from a recognized State and Central Government Board with English as compulsory subjects at 10+2 level.
ADMISSION CRITERIA
Admission shall on the basic of the merit of the CET. The vacant seats after exhausting the merit list of CET will be filled through merit list of CUET.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
The B.A Economics(H) programme is a 3 Year Degree/ 4 Year Hons. course divided into six-semesters and eight semesters respectively (with effect from 2024). A student is required to complete 178 credits for the completion of course and the award of degree out of 186 credits
