A day long MDP was conducted On “managing self before leading others” by Professor S C Kapoor And Dr Yukti Ahuja, faculty JIMS ROHINI for the Station Officers at Delhi Fire Service Station, Rohini on 20 September 2019. The day began with a brief on the theme of the session and its relevance for the audience. Professor Kapoor interestingly introduced self concept with illustrations from Mahabharata and Ramayana. The audience were sensitised to managing and leading from Indian mythology.
In the second session Dr Ahuja took the participants to an in-depth self-awareness through Johari window. During the session facets of personality which are open and hidden to the world were discussed. The session laid emphasis on emotional intelligence where it was reiterated that EI plays a vital role in shaping leadership roles.
After lunch the resource persons involved the audience in team building exercises where they learnt about team dynamics and it’s pivotal role in building successful organisations .
Overall the MDP was appreciated by all the participants and the organisers and towards the end the resource persons were congratulated on their day’s successful delivery.
