JIMS organised a guest session on “Understanding Nuances of Job Analysis” for PGDM batch (2018-20) students by Ms. Ruhani Ghai, Manager in Paytm on 23rd March 2019.
The session was based on Job analysis which consists of Job description and Job specification where the speaker discussed about various techniques of job analysis namely- personal observation, sending questionnaire to employees, critical incidents, personal interviews, etc by sharing real time examples from organisation.
Ms Ruhani elaborated the significance of job description and job specification in an organisation. To make session more effective she conducted an activity for students in which students had to analyse job of sales manager of hotel industry of any 4 companies and developed the job description and specification of the same.
Overall the session was knowledgeable and enriching as it gave a deep knowledge of 4 components of job design i.e. job simplification, job rotation, job enlargement and job enrichment.
