A full day workshop was organized by JIMS, Rohini for the Sr. Managers and Managers of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) at JIMS campus on Saturday, 5th Jan.2019. The workshop was aimed at addressing issues related to leadership effectiveness as well as diagnosing issues related to personal and professional differences.
The event began with the welcome of Chief Guest for the event, Mr. Manoj Kumar, I.A.S. and Chairman DTC. He was welcomed by Dr. Pooja Jain, Director, JIMS. In his address, Mr. Manoj Kumar told the participants to make full utilization of the workshop and imbibe the learnings at their respective workplaces. Dr. J. K. Goyal, former Director and Professor, JIMS, briefed the participants about the institution, its achievements and various initiatives taken by JIMS.
The workshop was conducted in three sessions.
Session 1: Workplace Conflict
It was conducted by Prof. S. C. Kapoor who talked about handling and resolving conflicts at workplace. He gave inputs on strategies to be adopted to managing conflicts arising out of personality or work related issues.
Session 2: Leading with a Purpose
Conducted by Mr. Suneel Keswani, it was an engaging power-packed session focussed on personal and organisational leadership for better decision making, sense of ownership and involvement at workplace
Session 3: Engaging Emotions: Managing Relations
Dr. Pratima Daipuria conducted the session through activities and exercises. She explained the importance of emotions and how to manage them for self and others. She also discussed the personality traits and responses in different situations
Through Out the Day a range of techniques such as team activities, role clarification and enactment, exercises, assessments, games, small group activities, were included to make the learning effective.
The workshop concluded with the address by Dr. Pooja Jain, Director who also awarded the certificates to all the participants. Mr. B. P. Nigam, Dy. CGM(Operations), Mrs. Durgesh Nanadni, Dy, CGM (West) and Mr. Sanjay Saxena, Dy, CGM (South) along with the trainers were also present in the distribution ceremony.
