On 10th February, 2018, JIMS (Rohini, Delhi) organized a National Seminar on the theme Business Analytics: Redefining Horizons in the college campus for its PGDM students. The half day event began with an inaugural session which opened with the address by Director - JIMS, Dr. Pawan Gupta followed by deliverances by the guests of honor, Mr. Amit Pareenja (Principal Consultant & Executive Coach (Corporate Strategy & Global Sales Group) TATA Communications Ltd. and Mr. Jones Joseph, Group Account Director, Corporate Kantar IMRB. This was followed by detailed technical discourse on the application of Business Analytics in the functional areas of management - in the form of a panel discussion among invited industry experts namely, Mr. Mayank Shree, AGM, Shared Services, Aircel; Mr. Pankaj Bhardwaj, Sr. Business Analyst, TCS; Mr. Anirudh Singh, Solution Architect and Delivery Leader, Evalueserve; Mr. Navin Kumar, Solution Architect, L&T Infotech; Dr. Ajay Shrivastav, Founder and Director, Anexion Transformation. The last 45 minutes saw a vibrant interaction between the panelists and the participating students who raised pertinent questions. The topical issue discussed in the seminar was not only contemporary but also revealed potential career choice for students. This seminar was in-keeping with the tradition of JIMS of periodically creating such platforms for industry-academia-student interface on relevant and latest topics.
