“ORIENTATION DAY” for PGDM – IB and RMM, Batch 2013-2015

Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Sector 5, Rohini hosted the Orientation Programme for PGDM ( International Business) and PGDM ( Retail Marketing Management), 2013-15 Batch with fervor and enthusiasm on 3rd July, 2013. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Retail (Dean-Dr Sumesh Raizada) and Department of IB (Dean-Prof Ashok Bhagat) and was hosted by the seniors of PGDM-IB Batch.
Director General Prof R.P Maheshwari delivered the Welcome speech and enlightened the audiences with his inspirational quotes and motivational speech. He conveyed and counseled students about the advent of globalization, liberalization and privatization where the share of Multinationals is increasing.

Learn, unlearn and re-learn
Dr. Mahesh Chandra D.Sc Associate Professor –Frank G.Zarb School of Business ,Hofstra University Hempstead NewYork was Guest of Honour on this occasion . With his vast professional experience in teaching , he delivered and enthralled the students about the practical aspects of learning. He opined that learning is a continuous process and promoted the aspect of entrepreneurship.
JIMS has started with a new initiative of planting trees on behalf of any guest of honor and has tied up with grow-trees.com. At the ceremony a certificate was presented to Dr Chandra where JIMS have planted 10 trees on his behalf at Koratpur, Orissa.
Also, welcoming the students at the Orientation programme of JIMS, Director, Dr.J.K Goyal addressed the audiences and drew attention towards the fact that the students have entered the JIMS Family and were a part of it now. Fields like Retail and International Business have immense scope and potential and have to be treated with utmost care and attention.
Students were counseled that they have entered professional programmes were they have to acquire certain skills and traits which would enable them to compete with the fast pace competitive world. JIMS has designed its courses keeping in mind the advent of change and innovation with the global standards. It provides updated knowledge to keep students updated with the current market trends. He further redefined the meaning of “Corporate” World which works on the concept of hard work, innovation, transition and challenges. Since these programmes were sector specific therefore the scope and dimensions were vast and diversified.
Director (I.T), Prof V.B Aggarwal also opined on the key aspect of learning at JIMS which is an ever-evolving process.
Lastly, Dr Ashok Bhagat Dean PGDM (IB) gave the Vote of Thanks wherein they shared their experiences and highlighted the importance of the programme and wished students a successful career and stay at JIMS. He also highlighted the scope of the programmes and their relevance. Also, parents who came to attend the programme were given due respect and their presence at the programme was acknowledged.
Overall the programme was a perfect start for the students and parents were their high hopes and aspirations received a great new beginning.
