The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of JIMS, Rohini organized its flagship intra-college business plan competition titled “PITCH-Ignite,” with a central focus on guiding students through the complete founder’s journey. The two-day event was designed to promote innovative thinking and entrepreneurial skills, allowing students to transition a raw startup idea into a fully structured, boardroom-ready business plan.
A total of 31 enthusiastic teams, comprising 89 participants, competed in the event. The competition was meticulously structured across three progressive rounds. Day 1 kicked off with the Startup Bazaar, an energetic open exhibition where teams set up brand booths with prototypes and posters, pitching their ideas live to roving judges. This was immediately followed by the Blueprint Battle, where students mapped and defended their strategic choices using the 9 blocks of the Business Model Canvas. The event culminated on Day 2 with the Boardroom Showdown, a Shark Tank-style grand finale where the top teams presented comprehensive investor pitches covering target markets, revenue models, and future roadmaps.
The event was graced by Dr. Shivani Mehta and Ms. Deepika Gehlan on the first day, and Ms. Shruti Jain on the second day, who served as the esteemed judges for the competition. They provided insightful feedback, appreciating the creativity, deep research, and confidence displayed by the participants. Their rigorous Q&A sessions encouraged students to think critically about market relevance, financial scalability, and the real-world application of their proposed ventures.
The competition concluded with a celebration of innovation and teamwork, recognizing outstanding efforts with special awards, including Best Stall and Best Business Model Canvas. PITCH-Ignite witnessed highly enthusiastic participation and served as an exceptional platform for students to integrate business, economic, and technological concepts into practical entrepreneurial thinking.
