An MIC-driven session titled “Strengthening Research and Innovation Ecosystems in HEIs: Leveraging MANTHAN and UTTHAN for Institutional Transformation” was streamed live on YouTube on 2nd September 2026 at 11:30 AM. The session focused on strengthening research and innovation ecosystems in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) by leveraging initiatives such as MANTHAN and UTTHAN. It provided insights into building institutional capabilities, fostering research and innovation, developing strategic partnerships, and creating pathways for translating ideas and research into impactful solutions.
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), established under the aegis of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), AICTE, regularly conducts activities under the IIC Calendar to promote a culture of research, innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty. As part of the MIC-driven activities, an online session titled “Strengthening Research and Innovation Ecosystems in HEIs: Leveraging MANTHAN and UTTHAN for Institutional Transformation” was organized and streamed live on YouTube on 2nd September 2026.
The session was organized in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India. It focused on strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem of Higher Educational Institutions through institutional capability building, structured assessment, industry engagement, strategic partnerships and collaborative R&D.
The session introduced participants to the relevance of MANTHAN and UTTHAN for institutional transformation. MANTHAN was discussed in the context of connecting HEIs with industry challenges and strategic R&D opportunities, while UTTHAN was presented as an institutional framework supporting assessment and strengthening of research and innovation capabilities.
