The Department of Information Technology, Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), successfully concluded its Summer Training Programme 2026 for BCA 2nd year students, focusing on emerging technologies and industry-oriented skill development.
Based on inputs from industry experts, alumni and students, two value-added courses were conducted: MERN Stack Development and React Native Development. The MERN Stack programme comprised 80 hours of training over four weeks, from 29 June to 28 July 2026, with 57 students participating. The React Native programme included 60 hours of training over four weeks, from 29 June to 24 July 2026, with 63 students participating. Both programmes were conducted in offline mode at C-302, JIMS.
The training was delivered by Mr. Harmeet Singh Sehra from Selfreneur and emphasized hands-on learning, coding practices and project-based application, enabling students to transform their theoretical understanding into practical solutions.
A key highlight was the project evaluation conducted after completion of the training. Six teams were shortlisted based on project quality, technical implementation, creativity and overall performance. Following the final evaluation, three teams were declared the Best Project Teams. The programme reflects JIMS's commitment to experiential learning, industry readiness and employability, equipping students with relevant technological skills for the evolving digital industry.
