JIMS Rohini Organises Five-Day FDP on Life Skills Management for Educators


Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini organized a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Life Skills Management for Educators" from 13th July to 17th July 2026. The programme was designed to strengthen the personal, emotional and professional competencies of educators so that they can effectively address the evolving needs of higher education and foster holistic student development.

The FDP focused on developing life skills such as workplace readiness, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, stress management, meditation, understanding Generation-Z learners, Indian values, professional ethics, emergency response and the role of educators in nation building. The programme brought together eminent administrators, psychologists, academicians, life skills experts, medical professionals and senior civil servants who shared practical insights drawn from their extensive professional experience.

The programme was attended by faculty members from various departments who actively participated in discussions, experiential activities and reflective learning exercises.

Objectives of the FDP

The major objectives of the FDP were:

  • To develop essential life skills required for effective teaching and academic leadership.

In the inaugural session, Dr Praveen Arora welcomed the  distinguished gathering and set the tone for the discussion in her welcome address. Ms Soumya Saurabh focused on preparing educators to develop workplace competencies among students. Drawing from her extensive administrative experience, Ms. Soumya Saurabh emphasized that life skills are equally important as academic knowledge in preparing students for professional careers.
