On 16th October 2025, a comprehensive and highly interactive workshop on “Design Thinking” was conducted at DAV Pushpanjali and Apeejay School organized by JIMS Rohini under ATAL Saarthi Initiative to mark the celebration Institute Innovation Day. The session led by Mr. Gaurav Vashisht, an expert in innovation and creative problem-solving, aimed to equip students with a deep understanding of the design thinking methodology and its practical relevance in addressing real-world challenges.
The workshop began at 8:30 AM with an engaging introduction to the concept of design thinking, emphasizing its importance in today’s rapidly evolving world. Mr. Vashisht guided the 55 participating students from each school through the five key stages — Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test, explaining each phase with clear examples and relatable scenarios. Through interactive discussions, he encouraged students to observe problems from a user’s perspective and identify genuine needs before jumping to solutions.
Hands-on activities formed the core of the workshop, allowing students to brainstorm creatively, collaborate in teams, and develop simple prototypes based on their ideas. These exercises helped them understand the iterative nature of design thinking and the value of continuous improvement through testing and feedback.
The atmosphere throughout the session was lively and participative. Students actively interacted with the resource person, asked thought-provoking questions, and shared their ideas with enthusiasm. The workshop not only enhanced their understanding of innovation-driven problem-solving but also strengthened essential skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and empathy.
Overall, the session proved to be an enriching learning experience that inspired students to think differently, challenge assumptions, and approach problems with a creative and structured mindset. The initiative
