The TekQbe Club of JIMS, Sector-5, Rohini successfully conducted “Learn Together, Code Better 3.0: A Student-Led Session on Git & GitHub for Smarter Collaboration” on 7th April 2026. The session focused on equipping students with essential version control skills and introducing them to collaborative coding practices using Git and GitHub.
The workshop was led by Himanshi Tomer (BCA 3rd Year), who guided participants through key concepts such as repository creation, commits, branching, merging, and pull requests. The session emphasized hands-on learning, allowing students to practically explore how real-world development teams collaborate and manage code efficiently.
With an active participation of 60 students, the session followed a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) approach where participants coded alongside the mentor, practiced Git commands, and worked on shared repositories. The interactive format encouraged curiosity, questions, and real-time problem-solving, making the learning experience engaging and impactful.
The session not only strengthened technical skills but also promoted teamwork, peer learning, and collaboration. Students appreciated the practical approach and the opportunity to learn industry-relevant tools in a simplified and interactive manner.
Overall, the workshop successfully created a collaborative learning environment and motivated students to explore open-source contributions and advanced development practices.
