Self-Awareness & Hidden Potential Session for BCA Students


The Department of Computer Applications organized an insightful session titled “Self-Awareness and Exploring Hidden Potential” on 5th March 2026 for the students of BCA I Year. The program was conducted in two shifts to accommodate all participants. The first shift was held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by the second shift from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

The primary objective of the session was to help students understand the importance of self-awareness and to encourage them to explore their hidden strengths and capabilities. The session also aimed to prepare students for future professional challenges, including personal interviews, by boosting their confidence and communication skills.

The resource person for the event was Ms. Shaurya Sharma, Assistant Professor and Clinical Psychologist. She delivered an engaging and interactive session, guiding students through various aspects of personality development, emotional intelligence, and self-discovery. She emphasized the significance of recognizing one’s strengths and weaknesses and provided practical strategies to enhance self-confidence and overcome self-doubt.

As part of the program, a Mock Personal Interview (PI) activity was conducted to give students hands-on experience. This activity helped participants understand interview dynamics, improve their responses, and build confidence in facing real-life interview situations.

Students actively participated in the session, sharing their thoughts and engaging in discussions. The interactive nature of the session created a positive learning environment and encouraged students to reflect on their personal and professional goals.

The event concluded on a successful note, leaving students motivated to work on their self-development and to utilize their hidden potential effectively. The session was highly appreciated by the participants for its practical approach and relevance.

The program was convened by Dr Geeta Sharma, whose guidance and efforts ensured the smooth organisation of the event.

Objectives

  • To facilitate the development of self-awareness among students by enabling them to critically analyse their strengths and areas for improvement.
  • To acquaint students with the dynamics and expectations of personal interviews through experiential learning.
  • To foster emotional intelligence, self-confidence, and positive attitude among students.
