The Institution’s Innovation Council of JIMS, Rohini, organized a highly engaging and insightful Panel Discussion on “Who Pays? The Domestic Impact of America’s Tariff Policies on India” on 26th February 2026 (Thursday) from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM in the A Building Auditorium. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from BBA and BA (Economics Hons.) students and was designed to encourage critical analysis of global trade policies and their domestic consequences.
The session was moderated by Khushi Wadhwa, who skill fully steered the discussion by raising thought-provoking questions on the economic and social implications of tariff policies. The format included two panel discussions and two impactful roleplays, making the session both interactive and intellectually stimulating. Students represented different countries — including Germany, China, and India — to present diverse international perspectives on America’s tariff policies. Through structured arguments and evidence-based discussions, participants examined how tariffs imposed by the United States affect Indian exporters, domestic industries, consumers, employment levels, and overall economic growth.
The event was evaluated by eminent judges Mr. Gaurav Bajwan and Dr. Sheetal Chadda, who provided valuable feedback on content clarity, analytical depth, presentation skills, and creativity.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks and memento distribution, leaving students with a deeper understanding of global trade dynamics and their domestic implications.
