A guest session titled “Analytics in Action: Industry Applications, Careers and the GenAI Shift” was organized for BAECO students on 9th February 2026. The session was conducted by Mr. Pranjal Gupta, Senior Associate, PwC, who shared his professional experience and industry insights in the field of analytics.
The session aimed to reinforce the practical importance of core subjects such as Data Analytics with R (III Semester)and Econometrics (IV Semester) by linking theoretical
concepts with real-world industry applications. The resource person explained fundamental concepts of analytics and discussed its applications across various sectors.
The session began with an introduction to analytics and its role in transforming data into meaningful business decisions. The resource person explained different types of analytics— descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive—and discussed their applications across sectors such as banking, consulting, FMCG, and e-commerce.
Mr. Gupta highlighted the key skills required by companies, including data interpretation, Excel proficiency, data visualization, and storytelling with data. He also introduced students to commonly used analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, R, and Python. Guidance
was provided on target companies and career opportunities, especially for economics graduates.
Special emphasis was laid on the growing role of Generative AI and its impact on business decision-making. He also guided students on building strong professional profiles through certifications, projects, and internships. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment. Overall, the program enhanced students’ understanding of subject relevance, industry expectations, and career readiness.
