Sports Fiesta 2025: Talent Selection for GGSIPU Sports Meet

The Sports Fiesta sports trials (Tug of War, Shotput, Chess and Table Tennis Tournament) were held on 3rd October, 2025at JIMS SECTOR 5, aiming to identify and select talented players. The trials attracted a diverse group of participants, showcasing their skills and enthusiasm for the sport. Both girls and boys actively participated in the event. The purpose of the selections was to identify the best students and to prepare them for the upcoming competitions such as GGSIPU Sports Meet. Around 70 students participated in the event.

Objectives of Sports Fiesta Trials:

  1. Talent Identification: To identify and select skilled players for Tug of War, Shotput, Chess, and Table Tennis.
  2. Encouraging Sportsmanship: To instil values of teamwork, discipline, and fair play among participants.
  3. Skill Enhancement: To provide a platform for students to demonstrate and improve their athletic and strategic abilities.
  4. Competitive Exposure: To give students hands-on experience in competitive sports and prepare them for future tournaments.
  5. Community Engagement: To foster a sense of unity and camaraderie among participants from diverse backgrounds.

Learning Outcomes of Sports Fiesta Trials:

  1. Improved Sports Skills: Participants gained hands-on experience in their respective sports, enhancing their techniques and strategies.
  2. Teamwork & Leadership: Players developed essential teamwork and leadership skills, especially in team-based games like Tug of War.
  3. Strategic Thinking: Chess and Table Tennis players sharpened their decision-making and analytical abilities.
  4. Physical Fitness & Endurance: Shotput and Tug of War participants improved their strength, stamina, and coordination.
  5. Confidence & Competitive Spirit: Participants built self-confidence and resilience by competing in a structured and motivating environment.

These trials not only aimed at selecting talented players but also contributed to the overall personality and skill development of the participants.
