On the occasion of Children’s Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), in collaboration with EduMedha and the Sports Club of JIMS, successfully organized a friendly Cricket Match on 14th November 2025 for children of Alipur Home for Boys and Lajpat Nagar Home for Boys.
The event aimed to celebrate Children’s Day in a meaningful manner by promoting sportsmanship, physical fitness, teamwork, and social interaction. Two teams of 11 NSS student volunteers each actively participated as players and mentors, engaging the children in a joyful and inclusive sporting environment. The matches were conducted in two sessions (Morning and Afternoon) across both venues, accompanied by T-shirt distribution and interactive sessions that fostered enthusiasm and confidence among the children.
The initiative provided valuable learning experiences for NSS volunteers by enhancing their leadership, organizational skills, empathy, and sense of social responsibility, while offering children an opportunity to experience encouragement, recognition, and healthy competition. The event was marked by high energy, discipline, and fair play, creating a memorable and positive impact on all participants.
Overall, the Children’s Day Cricket Match stood as a successful NSS social outreach activity, strengthening community bonds and reinforcing the spirit of service, compassion, and teamwork through sports.
