The NSS Unit and Edumedha of JIMS organized a social initiative visit to Bhaktawarpur Village on October 30, 2025, in collaboration with Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust and Amoli Society for Women. The initiative focused on women’s health, menstrual hygiene awareness, and community engagement. NSS volunteers, along with healthcare professionals, conducted an interactive health awareness session addressing menstrual hygiene, hormonal health, nutrition, and personal care. Sanitary pads were distributed, and proper usage and disposal methods were explained to promote hygienic practices.
A powerful nukkad natak performed by the Sankalp Drama Society of JIMS helped break myths and taboos surrounding menstruation and women’s health, encouraging open dialogue among women and adolescent girls. The visit received active participation and appreciation from the local community. Overall, the initiative enhanced health awareness, empowered women through education and expression, and strengthened collaboration between JIMS, NGOs, and the village community, making it a socially impactful and enriching experience for all participants.
