JIMS IIC organized a workshop on “IPR: Key Concepts and Insights” hosted by Mrs. Pooja Kumar, 11:00 AM onwards in the B Building Room no. B302 on 30th January 2025.
The session on IPR: Key Concepts and Insights featured Mrs. Pooja Kumar, a distinguished expert in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Founder of Innove Intellects LLP. With over 18 years of experience in the IPR domain, Mrs. Kumar brought invaluable expertise to the discussion.
As a Registered Patent Agent and Startup Facilitator accredited by the Government of India, she provided participants with deep insights into the strategic importance of IPR, explaining its role in fostering innovation and safeguarding intellectual assets. Her practical approach, backed by extensive experience mentoring startups across diverse fields, added immense value to the session.
Key government initiatives such as Startup India, which supports innovation and entrepreneurship, and the TREAD Scheme, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs through financial and training assistance, were discussed. Mrs. Kumar emphasized the benefits of securing a DPIIT certificate, which provides startups with access to funding and legal advantages. The role of global organizations like the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in shaping international IPR frameworks was also highlighted.
The discussion further delved into the registration process for IPR in India, covering essential legal procedures and best practices for securing intellectual rights. Through practical case studies, Mrs. Kumar provided actionable insights on overcoming challenges in IPR management, empowering participants to protect and commercialize their creative assets for sustainable growth effectively. The session ended with an engaging Q&A, where Mrs. Pooja Kumar addressed students’ questions and clarified entrepreneurial challenges and opportunities further.
