NSS – National Service Scheme of JIMS Rohini along with MCD organised a plog run, Where students collected dry garbage like leaves etc. from a park, and also took part in spreading awareness regarding the single use plastic
Objective
- To encourage students for protecting our environment , by teaching them about sustainability
- To spread awareness regarding current scenario and single use plastic negative impact on environment
- To push students more closer towards the betterment of our society by encouraging them into taking partin plog run and cleaning the environment
The Event
On Saturday 11 march 2023 , JIMS alongside MCD collaborated and organised, plog run – Exhibition and awareness on Single use plastic , The event was started by 8:30 a.m from Alok Kunj Bus Stop , B4 , Sector -15, Rohini to MCD Park , Block C , Sector 15 Rohini, in the presence of Ms. Nidhi Malik (IAS deputy commissioner rohini zone ) where the students took initiative into spreading the awareness regarding the Ban of Single use plastic and encourage people to choose sustainable alternatives of these plastics , There was an exhibition by school students showcasing their creativity by making best out of the waste , by reusing them ,The students understand that , each one of them can make a difference from their contribution The event and exhibition ended by the thankful and encouraging words from chief guest . This activity helped the students to learn more about the damages and negative impact the single use plastic creates on our environment, It helped the students into understanding the seriousness of the problem and also helped to learn that each one of them can make a difference, if they willingly help to make our environment better
