JIMS Rohini organised AWARENESS REGARDING COMPOST POINT


NSS – National Service Scheme of JIMS Rohini circulated awareness regarding the newly inaugurated compost point in the campus , so that students utilises the most of it and help the environment by providing their inputs in enrichment of soil

Objective:
  • To encourage students for the betterment of soil
  • To spread awareness regarding current scenario and benefit of soil
  • To push students more closer towards nature and environment

The Event:
Compost Point at the college campus was installed in October’22 in light of managing waste material. Inaugurated by Dr. Naveen Aggarwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, MCD Rohini Zone, Delhi, this is an initiative for a zerowaste eco-friendly campus. Under NSS Cell everyone was made aware of the fact that; Over one third of our food goes to waste and up to a half Of our household waste could be composted to help create New soil thus composting is an important part of Management. And thus, the club members i.e., Sakshi Khatri, Ruchi Dua, Jessica Puri, Parth Aggarwal, Arundhati Saxena Encouraged people through announcements to take part Wherein they can compost all food scrap, tea bags coffee Ground, and wooden stirrer, paper towel, napkins etc. believing That each one of us can make a difference, together we can make a change.

Learning Outcomes:

This activity helped the students to learn more about composting and its importance of it , This had also made them realise the methods of composting and how their food waste could actually help the Soil in terms of providing them the nutrients.
