INAUGURAL SESSION
It was a beautiful rainy morning to begin a new journey for students of PGDM, PGDM IB and PGDM RM on 27th July 2021. The sessions started sharply at 10:00 AM with an opening address by session moderator Dr. Deepti Kakar, Professor, JIMS Rohini.
After the opening address the senior students invoked Goddess Saraswati by singing Saraswati Vandana which gave a sense of peace to all the students for this great journey ahead.
Dr. Pooja Jain, Director, JIMS gave a welcome address to all the faculty, students and guest. She told students about the importance of the program and how the program is focused on enhancing the skills and learning of the students along with placements. She also mentioned about different specializations of the program and how the faculty and staff members of the college will help students to take the right path and guide them.
PGDM Dean Dr. Pratima Daipuria started her address with a wonderful Sanskrit Shlok on the importance of education in life. She also narrated students stories like “Alice in wonderland” and inspired all the students to take a right path in their career, education and skills.
Then the students got good wishes and blessings from Dr. J K Goyal advisor of JIMS. Dr Goyal emphasized on higher education landscape and how the students can make the best out of their life’s in next two years He really is a wonderful person and the students got motivated by his words.
Our guest of honour Ms. Vaisshali Babu, Associate Director, Head- Relationship Management, Product and marketing intelligence, BNP Paribas gave an inspiring orientation address to all the students. She very firmly told students to take their career and decisions thereon very seriously and develop themselves as lifelong learners. She gave real life experiences about the corporate world and told students how time, focus, skills, learning and knowledge is important to survive in the external environment. She also said that men and women should support each other whether its corporate world or education world as per skills. She also highlighted importance of ethics in one’s life and motivated students to take ethical decisions.It was a very valuable and interactive address by her where students asked various relevant questions.
At the end Dr. Deepika Saxena, HOD, PGDM (RM) gave a vote of thanks and Dr. Deepti Kakar gave the closing remarks.
It was a very beautiful and warm session to begin the PGDM program for the students.
