THE MCA INDUCTION PROGRAMME

The purpose of the education system is to develop good human beings who should have empathy, creative imagination and ethical values. At the same time we need to prepare them for productive, fulfilling employment.

We need to work with the new entrants to make them feel comfortable, help them to explore their academic interests and make them work for excellence. There should be strong bonding between teachers and students.

Institute has the responsibility not only to create successful engineers of the future, but to create well-rounded personalities, who can contribute to the society and are respectful human being.

So, when students join an Institute they are to be oriented to the Institute.

With this objective, IT department JIMS organises 3 weeks Induction programme for MCA 1st year 1st semester. Purpose of student induction program was to make them feel comfortable with the new environment and introduce then to the Institute culture.

Induction Programme: Week 1

  1. Session on many career options possible after MCA i.e. moving to corporate , entrepreneurship and academic were conducted
    1. By our alumni Ms. Shreepriya (2009-12, Software Engineer, Bold Technologies, NOIDA)
    2. By our alumni Gunjan Aggarwal our alumni (2008-11 – Free Lancer , Aargun Technologies, Proprietary Business)
    3. JIMS (Associate Professor) Dr. Suman Madan, Dr. Chetna Laroiya.
  2. Sessions on Emotional Quotient was delivered (by Ms. Mansi Madan)
  3. Session on understanding of Universal Human Values ( by Ms. Harpreet Rakhra) was conducted.

Induction Programme: week 2

  1. As a part of health series session were organized
    1. CPR (by Dr. G S Popli, Director-Anesthesia, Aakash Hospital-Dwarka)
    2. Effects of smoking (by Dr. Vikas Maurya, HoD and Sr. Consultant, Pulmonology, FORTIS-Shalimar Bagh)
    3. COVID -19 vaccination (byDr. Anshuman Kumar (Director, Surgical Oncology, Dharamshila Hospital, Noida)
    4. Bird Flu (by Dr. Parineeta, Sr. Consultant, Medicine Department, Aakash Hospital, Dwarka Dr. Anshuman )
  2. An interactive session with student to encourage them towards their hobbies was conducted. Students showcased their talent and hobbies.

Induction Programme: week 3

  1. Students enjoyed physical fitness session (conducted by Mr. Sunny Seth)
  2. Students were introduced to the Innovation Cell of the Institute (by Ms. Ankita Chopra) where they can listen to Founder’s talk.
  3. A 2 day workshop on time & stress management and to encourage team work (conducted by Prof. S. C. Kapoor) was much appreciated by the students
