Industrial visits are very important for every management student as it provides a clear picture to the managers in the making who have the zeal for a bright future. An Industrial visit to Amul Dairy was organized by PGDM department on 22nd November 2018 for PGDM Batch (2018-20) students. The objective of this visit was to study and understand the production set-up and operation of Amul Dairy.
Amul was formed in the year 1946 and today it goes without saying that Amul is one of the leading food/dairy brands in India. Amul is the pride not only of Gujarat but also of the entire country. It was a great opportunity for the students to visit one of the most renowned Dairy Industries in India and acquire knowledge about the production line. During the visit, students visited and saw the making of various processes like Milk, Paneer and Butter preparation, etc. They showed a power point presentation about their operations worldwide. The Powepoint presentation gave glimpses of the genesis of Amul and its growth in a pictorial form to visitors and infused confidence in the principle of co-operation and co-operative organizations. It was a wonderful and interactive visit, where the students understood the production processes, products and operations of one of the best examples of co- operative achievement in a developing economy.
