JIMS Rohini Organized Trade Secrets


Objective of the contest: The event is designed to engage students with core commerce concepts such as trading, marketing, and finance through a series of interactive challenges. It aims to move beyond theoretical learning by simulating real-world scenarios like stock trading, supply chain management, and brand building, allowing students to develop practical skills such as critical thinking, decision-making, and strategic planning. Additionally, the event seeks to promote collaboration and networking among commerce students and faculty, encouraging teamwork, communication, and mentorship in a fun and dynamic environment. Overall, the objective is to provide an enriching, hands-on learning experience that strengthens both academic understanding and real-world business skills.

Learning Outcomes: The commerce-themed treasure hunt and games offered students an enriching, hands-on experience that went beyond classroom learning. Students applied key commerce concepts such as finance, marketing, trading, and supply chain management in real-time problem-solving activities. Through this, they strengthened their critical thinking, decision-making, and analytical skills while working under time pressure.

The event promoted teamwork, collaboration, and leadership as students worked in groups to tackle challenges, communicate ideas, and strategize together. Activities like creating marketing jingles and participating in charades helped students develop public speaking, creative thinking, and presentation skills. The Academic Club of JIMS Rohini organized Trade Secrets on April 25, 2025. The event was designed to engage students with core commerce concepts such as trading, marketing, and finance through a series of interactive challenges. It aims to move beyond theoretical learning by simulating real-world scenarios like stock trading, supply chain management, and brand building, allowing students to develop practical skills such as critical thinking, decision-making, and strategic planning.

Flow of the Event:

Starting Phase: Registration and Briefing

All registered teams assembled at the designated starting point. After a quick briefing on the rules, each team received their first clue and their unique team number. Participants were reminded that mobile phone use was strictly prohibited to maintain fairness.

Round 1: Treasure Hunt ("Trade Trails")

  • Teams solved a series of clues leading them across different checkpoints on campus.
  • Activities included:
    • Balance the Budget Puzzle (solving a mock financial statement),
    • Supply Chain Sprint (decoding a logistics riddle),
    • Marketing Mimicry (creating a jingle or slogan),
    • Stock Market Shuffle (solving a commerce-based crossword).
  • After collecting all clues, teams returned to the coordinator for verification.
  • The top 7 fastest teams to complete all checkpoints were awarded gold coins, acting as passes to the next round.

Round 2: Bonus Quiz ("KBC Style Commerce Quiz")

  • The first five teams who presented their gold coins quickly got a chance to participate in a bonus commerce quiz.
  • Each team answered commerce-related questions within 60 seconds.
  • Correct answers earned bonus points that were added to their total score.
  • Performance in both the Treasure Hunt and Quiz determined the top 7 teams who moved to the final round.

Round 3: Final Challenge ("WWW - Who? Why? What?")

The final round tested participants' speed, creativity, and knowledge through two exciting sub-rounds:

  • Sub-Round 1: Logo and Personality Identification
    Teams identified logos of companies and famous commerce personalities within 30 seconds.
  • Sub-Round 2: Draw and Guess (Commerce Pictionary)
    One team member drew commerce-related terms while the other guessed the term in 15 seconds (no words or letters allowed).

Each correct answer earned 10 points, and total points from both sub-rounds determined the final rankings.

Winners:

After an exciting series of rounds, the event concluded by celebrating the achievements of the winning teams:

  • 1st Position: Muskan and Ishika from BA ECO 2nd Year.
  • 2nd Position: Mishti and Driti from BBA 2nd Year.

Both teams showcased excellent teamwork, quick thinking, and deep understanding of commerce concepts.
Participation certificates were also distributed to all participants to acknowledge their enthusiasm and efforts.

The event wrapped up with awarding the winners and acknowledging the participants as well a vote of thanks extended to the faculty and the team for their efforts..
