Objective of the Event
The objective of the session was to provide invaluable insights to enhance our institution's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The recent live session with Dr. Abhay Jere on MIC Programs & Schemes provided invaluable insights for enhancing our institution's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. One of the key takeaways is the importance of engaging investors by organizing pitching sessions and workshops for students and faculty. Strategic innovation is also crucial; we should focus on institution-specific challenges, such as reducing electricity usage and managing waste, through innovative projects, internships, and competitions. Additionally, raising awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and fostering design thinking through curated workshops and sessions is essential. Establishing city- level incubation programs with nearby facilities to organize workshops and networking opportunities can further support our innovators. We should leverage the YUKTI repository to create inter- and intra-institutional competitions, stimulating competitive spirit and idea exchange. Collaborating with
nearby institutions for multidisciplinary approaches in fields like biotechnology and fintech, inspired by initiatives like Stanford-India Biodesign, can also be beneficial. Smaller institutions can support local administrative bodies such as panchayats and municipalities through experiential learning initiatives, providing practical experience and community support. Utilizing AICTE Indovation Centres for guidance, technology transfer, and acceleration support at the grassroots level is another key strategy. Encouraging IP filings through the KAPILA scheme will further boost innovation.
During the Q&A session, several important points were highlighted. For upcoming Industry- Academia Connect Programs, engaging Associate Professors and Assistant Professors of Practice and leveraging industry experts in Institutional Innovation Councils (IICs) is recommended. For fostering innovation in non-engineering institutions, collaborating with local experts to identify problem areas where technical institutions can contribute is crucial, positioning our institution as a driver of innovation. Additionally, contributing to AICTE Connect magazine and encouraging institutional participation will enhance visibility and share best practices.
Conclusion: By implementing these strategies, we can significantly advance our institution's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. Let’s work together to make the most of these opportunities!
