The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) organized an engaging workshop on "Problem Solving and Ideation" on November 18, 2024, from 2:30–4:00 PM in online mode for BBA and BCA students. Mr. Himanshu Jessie Wadia, Director of IT Innovation and Automation at Amdocs, India and Middle East, conducted the session. An alumnus of IIM Calcutta with a PGDM diploma from IMT Ghaziabad and a B.Tech in IT from Punjab Technical University, Mr. Wadia has vast experience in technology and management roles, making him an inspiring mentor for the session.

The workshop aimed to foster a deeper understanding of creative problem-solving and innovative thinking, emphasizing the importance of approaching challenges with a fresh perspective, systematically analyzing situations, and developing effective solutions. Participants were encouraged to explore various ideation techniques and frameworks to generate, refine, and implement ideas that address complex issues in dynamic environments.

As part of the session, Mr. Wadia introduced the “5 Why’s” technique, a simple yet effective tool to uncover the root causes of problems by repeatedly asking "why" until the core issue is identified. He also stressed the importance of strategic management, focusing on structured planning and the ability to adapt strategies to evolving circumstances. These tools were framed as essential for crafting impactful and sustainable solutions. Drawing from his professional journey, Mr. Wadia shared insights from his experiences across renowned organizations like Bharti Airtel, Ericsson Global, and TCS. He highlighted how innovation, critical thinking, and strategic planning can lead to impactful outcomes in technical and managerial roles.

The session also provided practical insights into designing and executing ideas effectively while addressing potential challenges. Students were encouraged to think beyond traditional methods and embrace creativity and collaboration as tools for achieving success.

Anchored by Khushi Wadhwa from BBA 2 Year, the workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where students sought advice on real-world challenges. Mr. Wadia's responses inspired participants to apply the workshop's teachings in their pursuits.
