Welcome Address:
Dr. Praveen Arora, Principal, JIMS, opened the seminar with a thoughtful and inspiring
welcome address that set the tone for the event. Speaking on the theme “Business Intelligence
System: Leveraging Data for Strategic Decisions,” she emphasized the growing significance
of data in today’s digital world. Praveen Ma’am drew attention to the idea that data is no longer
a luxury but a necessity in modern management. She compared data to oil — a powerful and
valuable resource that, when refined through analytics and intelligence systems, becomes a
driving force behind innovation and strategic growth. She elaborated on how Business
Intelligence enables organizations to transform vast volumes of data into actionable insights,
enhancing efficiency, competitiveness, and informed decision-making. She encouraged
students to embrace a data-driven mindset, highlighting that those who can understand,
interpret, and act on data will be the leaders of tomorrow. Addressing the relevance of BI in
every industry, she underlined the need for data literacy, critical thinking, and continuous
learning to navigate and thrive in a world powered by analytics. Her speech left the audience
with a renewed appreciation for the power of data and the role of Business Intelligence in
shaping the future of business strategy and innovation.
