JIMS Rohini Organized Investment Concerns and Financial Resilience in Indian Markets


A guest session on “Investment Concerns and Financial Resilience in Indian Markets” was organized at Jagan Institute of Management Studies on 12 February, 2023. The speakers for the event were Mr. Manoj Goel, Finance Controller, Air Asia (India) Pvt Ltd and Mr. Vineet Ranjan, head of Risk and Strategic Alliances at Kosh.

Mr. Ranjan started the session by nudging students to understand the current state of the Indian economy. He quoted some simple yet mind boggling figures to show the growth of India in the last decade and the projected growth in the upcoming decade. He discussed on the topics like Alternate Investment Funds, NPAs, bond market and equity market. Mr Ranjan discussed about the current happenings in Paytm and developments in CBDC. He made the students understand about Fintech, government regulation, restrictions and future of the industry. Some interesting topics like FLDG, DPD and capital adequacy of banks were also touched upon. 
Mr Goel emphasized on the meaning of financial resilience and advised students to start investing as soon as they start earning. He stressed upon being careful and not to put all the eggs in one basket while investing. To invest in term insurance, Mediclaim, SIPs and MFs were some of his suggestions. Mr Goel concluded the session with the powerful message to never stop learning in life from experiences and circumstances.  
Students got a glimpse of how the financial resilience needs to be practiced keeping the concerns around investment in mind. The event was a huge success wherein students stepped out with a spark of having learnt something new and insightful.
