JIMS Rohini Organized Industrial Visit to Lumax Industries Limited in Rewari, Haryana


PGDM department organised an industrial visit to Lumax Industries Limited in Rewari, Haryana on 28th December,2021 for PGDM Batch (2021-23) Sec C students . It was after a long time that the students were taken to a visit like this due to the COVID-19 situation. All the COVID-19 norms and protocols were completely followed by the students and faculty members.

Lumax Industries Limited manufactures automobile lighting systems and solutions. The Group's products include stellar quality head lamps and tail lamps, side indicators, front combination lamps, blinkers, sundry lamps and auxiliary lamps.

The main idea of plant visit was to show the students the operational procedure in company. The visit started with a briefing about Lumax Industries by the incharge there with the help of some infographics and videos and a presentation. The students were also introduced to the practices that the lumax industries follows like employee engagement activities, where in there are many activities conducted in order to know the employee and about the employee in a better way. Activities such as mass communication, shabash(rewarding the employee with small gifts), open house, Sparsh, Birthday month celebration and many more comes under this category. The values that lumax industries follows are Respect, Integrity, Passion and Excellence

After this it was time for hi-tea and then the students were divided into three batches accompanied by a faculty and a plant head to guide the students throughout the plant and make them aware about the different steps and processes being involved in the manufacturing of the parts that the industry manufactures. Processes like Moulding, spray painting, Tool workshop, Assembly line were shown to the students in real. 

Last but not the least there was a small skill training centre termed as GURUKUL. It was a small initiative taken by the organisation where in every new ground level worker has go through a 6 day course where they are taught and made understood all the processes, how they work and the job of that person. It was a personal effort taken by them to make the unskilled workers multiskilled. 

A long day comes to an end with a Q and A in the conference room to clear all our doubts and ask questions regarding the whole plant. The students gained a lot of knowledge about the operations of a lant and experienced themselves how a plant actually works.  

Students really enjoyed their hospitality, had lunch there and lastly all were given token of remembrance as well. Overall it was a great learning experience for everyone.
