JIMS Rohini organised an alumni Session on “Retail Selling Skills” for PGDM-Retail Management students batch 2020-22 on 15th March,2021. The Resource Person was Mr. Shantul Rana, Department Manager, Shoppers Stop and alumnus batch-2011-13.

Everyone sells - whether they call it sales or not.
Mr. Shantul discussed with students various operations of the store. He emphasized that working in retail helps you gain and develop several skills and characteristics that applies in day to day  life. These include, empathy, active listening, patience, adaptability, communication skill, and more. Here are some quick ideas on how to improve retail sales:-
-Greet everyone with Smile
-Expect to be able to sell everyone
-Find something to like about any stranger
-Serve first to be able to sell
-Know your sales closing ratio
-Sell something you hate
-Learn how to sell more expensive items without discounting
-Be willing to risk the customer walking away without buying
-Selling is a game you only partially control
The session was informative and students got to know how to deal with the customers in this pandemic situation.
