JIMS 8i–IJICCT is a peer-reviewed, blind-reviewed, half-yearly online journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal follows the guidelines and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics COPE.

The publication of scholarly articles plays a vital role in the development of a credible and reliable knowledge network. Ethical publishing ensures the quality of research and reflects the integrity of authors, reviewers, editors, and affiliated institutions. All stakeholders are expected to adhere to the ethical standards outlined below.

1 Confidentiality

The JIMS 8i – Journal of Information, Communication and Computing Technology (IJICCT) is committed to upholding the highest standards of research integrity and ethical publishing. The journal ensures that all published work adheres to established ethical principles and best practices in scholarly communication, as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All manuscripts and reviewer reports are treated as confidential documents. Information about submitted manuscripts is not shared with unauthorized individuals. Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal are required to ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism. All sources must be properly cited and acknowledged. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. The journal employs plagiarism detection tools to verify the originality of submissions. All the data used in the study should be authenticated and may need to present the data upon request of the journal. Authors need to disclose the financial and non-financial conflicts of interest [Conflict of Interest statement] that may influence the result or interpretation. Manuscript is clearly indicating the contribution of each author in the research work. The journal is responsible to take all ethical misconduct seriously and will take appropriate action in accordance with the guidelines provided.

2 Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest (Editors)

During the process reviewers and editors also disclose conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist. Editors must not use unpublished material from submitted manuscripts for their own research without written consent from the authors. Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed and appropriately managed.

3 Reviewer Responsibilities

Peer reviewers assist editors in making decisions and help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts. Reviewers should complete reviews within the stipulated time. It is the responsibility of reviewers to treat received manuscripts as confidential documents. Reviews must be conducted objectively and professionally. Personal criticism of authors is strictly prohibited. Reviewers should identify relevant prior work not cited by the authors. Any similarity or overlap with existing work must be reported to the editor. Reviewers will not evaluate manuscripts where conflicts of interest (personal, institutional, or financial) exist.

4 Author Responsibilities

It is the duty of authors to present accurate, original, and objective research. Sufficient detail should be provided to allow reproducibility. Authors should note that manuscripts must be entirely original. Proper citation and referencing are given. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable. Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. Duplicate or redundant publication is unethical. Authorship should be limited to individuals who made significant contributions. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript and should agree to submission. Contributors not meeting authorship criteria should be acknowledged. All sources of funding must be clearly stated.

5 Handling of Plagiarism

All submitted manuscripts first undergo an initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that pass this stage are then subjected to a plagiarism check. The journal follows strict ethical standards in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 10% (excluding references, quotations, and common phrases) are returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the severity of overlap. Only manuscripts meeting the acceptable similarity threshold proceed further in the review process.

6 Corrections, Retractions, and Ethical Concerns

If a significant error is identified in a published article, authors must promptly inform the editor. The journal will issue a correction or retraction as necessary. Ethical complaints will be handled in accordance with COPE guidelines.

7 Publisher's Responsibilities

The publisher ensures that editorial decisions remain independent of commercial interests. The publisher is committed to maintaining the integrity of the academic record.

8 Ethical Compliance Statement

The journal adheres to the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics and follows best practices in scholarly publishing.

9 Appeals and Complaints

In the event of any author dissatisfaction at any stage of the manuscript evaluation or publication process, authors may submit a formal request for clarification or justification to the journal. All such requests are reviewed by the Editorial Board, and the Editor-in-Chief retains the final authority to make a decision on the matter.
