Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) imparts professional education at post graduate and graduate levels in the fields of Management and Information Technology. The area of Management aims at planning, developing, implementing and managing different management concepts. The Management Department offers 2 programmes in Management: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and B.A.(Hons.) Economics. A professional of this area should possess excellent analytical ability, ability to adapt and learn new concepts good problem solving and understanding capabilities and communication skills. Apart from providing opportunities for classroom learning, the Department of Management lays a lot of stress on practical and skill-based learning to ensure that students grow into complete Management professionals. In an era where academic institutions are expected to generate impactful research with limited core funding, the ability to secure external grants and resources has become a critical skill. The FDP titled “Academic Fundraising and Grant Writing: From Ideas to Funding” is designed to empower faculty members, research scholars, and institutional leaders with the knowledge, tools, and strategies required to navigate the complex world of grant writing and academic fundraising.
This program provides a comprehensive understanding of how to identify funding opportunities, craft competitive proposals, and manage projects postaward. With an added emphasis on non-traditional fundraising (e.g., CSR, alumni engagement, startup ecosystems),the FDP aims to broaden the fundraising horizon for institutions and researchers
Participants will be trained in the use of AI-driven writing aids, digital workflow tools, data visualization software, and secure research data management practices. They will also learn how to align their projects with institutional roadmaps and government priorities to increase grant success rates. Through expert-led sessions, live case studies, peer evaluations, and technology demonstrations, this FDP prepares participants to take their research ideas from the drawing board to fully-funded projects.

Prof. Devendra K. Tayal is a seasoned academician and administrator with over 25 years of experience in higher education.
He currently serves as Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at IGDTUW, Delhi A Ph.D. and M.Tech. in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Prof. Tayal has also held key positions including Dean (Academics) and Chief Proctor at IGDTUW. With over 150 research publications in reputed SCI/SCOPUS indexed journals such as ACM, Springer, Elsevier, and Wiley, his research focuses on Fuzzy Database Systems and Natural Language Processing. Prof. Tayal has a Google Scholar h-index of 21 and has led multiple sponsored and consultancy projects, including with DST’s ₹3600 Cr Mission ICPS. He is actively involved with AICTE, NBA, and academic boards of GGSIPU and IGNOU, and has contributed extensively to academic governance, research development, and institutional quality enhancement

Prof. Rajan Yadav is a seasoned academician with over 23 years of experience in teaching and research.
A Ph.D. holder from CCS University Meerut, he has guided 10 doctoral students in marketing. He has held key administrative roles, including Head of Department, Chairperson of Admissions, DRC, BOS, and NSS at DTU. A prolific researcher, Dr. Yadav has published 65+ Scopus/Web of Science indexed papers in renowned journals and has authored books on retail management and organizational transformation. With 1862 citations and an h-index of 17, his research impact is significant. Currently, he is the principal investigator of an ICSSR-funded project on technology adoption. He also mentors startups in the marketing domain.

Prof. Kavita Chauhan is a Professor at the Centre for Management, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. A graduate of Lady Shri Ram College and MBA in E-commerce from GGSIPU, she holds a Ph.D.
in E-commerce (Indian tourism marketing). With over 19 years of academic experience, she specializes in Customer Relationship Marketing, E-commerce, Digital Marketing, and Design Thinking. She has completed certification courses from the University of Virginia and Google Analytics Academy. A passionate researcher, she has published in Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals and contributed to Springer-edited volumes. She has led research projects funded by UGC and ICSSR and consulted the Government of Japan. Dr. Chauhan is also associated with academic bodies of Lingaya’s University, Central University of Gulbarga, and Shiksha ‘O’ Anusandhan, Odisha.
Prof. Mainuddin is a distinguished academician and researcher with over two decades of experience in high-impact research and teaching An alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia and Delhi College of Engineering,
he earned his Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2008. Prior to joining academia, he served for over 16 years at the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), where he received multiple prestigious awards including the DRDO Laboratory Scientist of the Year. Since 2013, Dr. Mainuddin has been shaping future engineers at Jamia Millia Islamia. As Head of the Department (2014–2017), he pioneered significant academic reforms, including the launch of a new M.Tech. program and a cutting-edge Optoelectronics lab. His research spans Optoelectronics, Sensors, Antenna Design, and High-Power Lasers, with 70+ journal publications, a book, and multiple book chapters to his credit. He also leads a major DRDO-funded project on optical sensors for water pollution detection
