JIMS organised an interactive session on “Career Aspirations” for the students of PGDM-Retail Management, batch 2020-22 on 5th February, 2021. The resource person were Dr. Bhavna Chadha, Founder, Adhyapan and management consultant, Dr. Vijendra Dhyani, Visiting Faculty and Dr. Deepika Saxena, HOD, PGDM Retail Management, JIMS.
The aim of the session was to create as interactive forum for the students where they openly share their career aspirations. The mentors shared the experiences of their life and career. The resource persons discussed with the students the realities of life and differentiated between dreams and actual possibilities. They gave multiples examples from the corporate sector and emphasized on starting the career from the scratch and taking it to the top of the ladder. Students were very interactive during the session, and were asking their queries and doubts openly throughout the discussion. ‘How to make balance between passion and profession’ and ‘one should go for money or happiness’ were few questions which the mentors loved to answer. The mentors gave interesting insights on all the questions from the real life experiences and knowledge. The session was really very insightful and students were happy as they were able to ask all the questions with open heart.
