The year 1991 makes a unique change in the governance and Economic Management of India. There was a transition from the controlled economic model to a liberal policy framework. In the new environment popularly refereed to as privatize, liberalize and globalize. There was a tremendous need to have skilled manpower in technical fields such as Information Technology and Management. Keeping this in mind, Jagan Institute of Management Studies in the year 1993 under the aegis of Jagan Nath Gupta Memorial Educational Society.

Jagan Nath Gupta Memorial Educational Society is a registered society under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and is a non profit organization. The society is managed by learned people drawn from academics, industry and business. The Chairman of the society, Mr. Manish Gupta is an Economic (Hons.) graduate form the prestigious Hansraj College of Delhi University and holds a Master degree in Management. The Vice Chairman, Dr. Amit Gupta, has done his MBA from the well renowned Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and has completed his PhD from School of Management Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Likewise, the Treasurer of the society Mr. Deepak Gupta holds a Masters degree in Management. The society is keenly devoted to the cause of professional education.
