The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), JIMS, organized a Flag Hoisting ceremony to celebrate the 80th Independence Day of India on 14th August 2026. The programme began with the National Flag being hoisted by the Principal and Dean, Dr. Praveen Arora followed by the singing of the National Anthem by all students and staff present. In the welcome address, the Principal and Dean spoke about the sacrifices of freedom fighters and connected the spirit of independence to the responsibility of today's youth to build an “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” through innovation and entrepreneurship.
The IIC Convenor briefed the gathering on the Council's activities planned for the academic year and reiterated how student-led innovation and startups contribute directly to national growth. A total of 125 students participated in the event and displayed a high level of enthusiasm and initiative throughout the programme. Select students shared brief thoughts on patriotism and their aspirations to start ventures that solve real-world problems. The session included a short interactive segment where students were encouraged to reflect on how their courses and skills could translate into innovative solutions or entrepreneurial ventures. The event concluded with cultural elements (patriotic songs/poems) and a group photograph, leaving participants energized and reflective about their role in nation building through innovation.
