Interactive Session by National Stock Exchange Experts on "NSE's Certification in Financial Markets"
As a part of finance club activity, an interactive session was organized on 16th October 2014 at its campus by the Stock Exchange experts from National Stock Exchange (NSE) on “Certification in Financial Markets” popularly known as NCFM for the PGDM students of batch 2014-2016. The Key-note speakers of session were: Mr Tarun & Mr Kunal Tyagi
 
They gave a brief introduction on the basic functioning of stock markets, how it started and then gradually evolved to paperless transaction mode.
Students were made aware of the pre 1990’s ‘financial market’ scenario and limitations and how became basis for the formation of NSE in the year 1992. Also , the different products offered in the stock market , at present , like shares, debentures, products in derivation market- furthers options, currency market, ETF’s and others.
Further, they highlighted the role of NSDL as a ‘clearing and settlement’ depository in NSE.
JIMS students were encouraged to take up the NCFM modules. Students were distributed brochure and registration forms. The session concluded with a Q&A session wherein student queries were resolved and suggestions and advices to students in terms of career in stock market were given by the experts.
The session was very educative and informative.
