Mr. Sanjive Saxena presented a research paper titled “Software Development Life Cycle: Managing Defects”. He explained that defects arise in the software during the development phase. Each defect has cost implications hence it needs to be managed. The research study covers issues pertaining to management of defects in software development life cycle. He discussed the concerns faced by various practitioners at various level of Software Company. He discussed the systematic process of defect treatment and practical issues faced by project team members (as well as members of quality cell) like cost, timelines and schedule overruns. In the end, he presented the core metrics which can be used by software team during the treatment of defects.
