JIMS Sector-5, Rohini organised A workshop and Competition on Database Designing


The event was organized by TEKQBE – The IT Club of JIMS on 28 February 2022, 11.00 AM onwards. It was organized in offline mode by JIMS, Rohini, New Delhi.

 

Objective:

  1. To check the understanding of the coding skills of students
  2. To check implementation skills and output reporting style of students
  3. To improve their understanding of coding skills by applying basic DSA concepts

 

Participating teams in Code-it:

It was jointly supported by JIMS Rohini and SPICES scheme of AICTE. The objective was to inculcate and improve coding skills and problem solving for the students across the board. It was a 2-hours event with 85 team registrations. It was well received by our students. The event was held offline and followed covid protocols and other SOPs.

On the day of event, the turnout was good and about 80 teams turned up. The the event was opened by Mr. Devesh Lowe, Dr. Praveen Gupta, Ms. Aakansha Chopra (faculty coordinators of IT Club and IT department) and handed over to student coordinators to explain the rules of the event and smooth conduct of the event. The question paper was given to all the teams, for coding and output reporting. All the participating teams participated enthusiastically and many completed the tasks. Many teams got really competitive and towards the end of the event. The team responses were collected online and were independently evaluated by the faculty coordinators. In the end, top 3 teams were announced by the Faculty coordinators. The winners of the event were

The event ended with vote of thanks to all stakeholders. All the students felt that the event was quite interesting, showed great interest and looked for more such events in future. This way, the objective was achieved, to a major extent, though scope for improvement is always there. The event was successfully conducted by the entire student coordinators team. Special thanks to the faculty coordinator, Ms Aakansha Chopra and Mr. Devesh Lowe,  for ensuring smooth conduct of event. The student coordinators team along with volunteers (Nikhil, Akshar, Khushi, Ankit, Vineet, and others ) executed the tasks and activities very well.

 

Learning Outcomes: 

  1. The students were enlightened to understand the programing logic and
  2. How to code and implement the solution with time constraints in competitive environment.
