Interactive Session on "Media Planning for Entrepreneurs and Managers"

Jagan Institute of Management Studies, E-Cell ‘TARKASH’ organized a Guest Lecture on “Media Planning for Entrepreneurs and Managers” on 7th September, 2013 for the students of PGDM (Gen/IB/RM). The speaker for the event was Mr. Anirudh Pawa, Brand Manager (Chocolates), Nestle India.

The event commenced with the welcome address delivered by Dr J.K Goyal, Director JIMS, Rohini, Sector-5 wherein he talked about the career and skills required for Entrepreneurs and Managers and introduced JIMS to the invited speaker. Further our guest speaker explained the meaning of Media planning in context of Marketing, Advertising and Entrepreneurship. He further explained the new product market with Alpino and Android Kitkat. He also explained the Brand Marketing where it comes with a set of expectations, memories, stories and relationships.

He also explained the Brand Management Cycle that comprises of Placement, Packaging, Marketing, Consumer and Price. He quoted that marketing strategy differs from company to company e.g. Maggie and Cadbury. Also, Marketing Mix was defined as it makes brand compete against each other. The scope of Advertising was widened with its objectives of brand awareness, product information, persuasion people, brand recall and brand experience.

The key players for advertisement were identified as advertiser (client), agency (in house- external), Media -Supplier and Target Audience.
He quoted that the best method to deliver message to target audience is to have larger audience, best price and right media mix.  The key things that should be kept in mind are the Research, Frequency, Weight, Continuity in Budget and Cost.

The event was well conceptualized by the Ms. Sarita Solanki (Faculty In charge E-Cell) and E-leaders and took a form of an interactive and educative experience at JIMS.
