Orientation Programme Of JIMS Entrepreneurship Cell "Tarkash".

On 11th July 2009, JIMS organized Orientation programme for JIMS Entrepreneurship Cell "Tarkash". Tarkash, the Entrepreneurship Cell, firmly believes that emerging economies like India need the drive and innovation of young entrepreneurs. The cell aims at manifesting the latent entrepreneurial spirit of the youth. Theme of the programme was "Success story of a young entrepreneur- Mr. Ravi Dabbirroo". Mr. Ravi Dabbirro is the CEO of Zice Holidays, one of the largest companies in adventure sports. He is an MBA with unusually sharp sales and marketing acumen honed by years of experience. He has worked with Warner Bros. His gypsy heart lies in backpacking and camping. He has a vast experience in the area of Travel and tourism. Ravi has handpicked his precious experience from a cross section of continents, having worked in the Middle East, the UK and of course, India.

It was very inspiring listening to such a young entrepreneur who achieved success in such a short span of time. He elaborated on what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Relating his story he said, one day he felt a burning desire to make something happen and so he left his job against his family's wish .He slowly made his team and went into the field of adventure sports and opened his company called Zice Holidays.

He concluded by saying "A passion to make a difference is all it takes to be an entrepreneur". He said there comes a time in entrepreneur's life, when he feels an itch & then it becomes inevitable. No one knows when it can happen to you, it may be tomorrow or may be ten years from now. At the end he took up queries. Then the students played some team building games.

Ms Bhavna Kataria, consultant National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN, an initiative of Wadhwani Foundatiom) was the other guest of Honor. She gave an introduction of the activities of NEN. NEN's ultimate goal is to help launch thousands of new entrepreneurs, who in turn will create hundreds of thousands of much-needed valuable jobs for India.

At the end of the session few students were invited to address the key learning of the workshop.
