An enriching and meritorious event 'Investor's Mela' was arranged on 24th, 25th Feb, 07. Investor's Mela was an innovative and proactive concept adopted by JIMS to acquaint the students with essential and imperative knowledge of financial sector.
Immaculate and fanciful arrangements were made by the students of the PGDBM. The testimony of success could be judged by the enthusiastic and rational participation by various recognized financial services of various banks.

The event started at around 10 am on 24th Feb'07 with the erection of canopies of various participative banks. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Manpreet Sehgal, AVP, Kotak by cutting the red ribbon.
A Seminar was arranged to cater the emerging need of financial sectors. The speaker for seminar was Mr. Manpreet Sehgal himself. The seminar commenced at around noon with the keynote address by Dr.J.K.Goyal, Director, JIMS. The speaker addressed various issues of financial sector. He discussed about insurance, mutual funds, FD's, venture capitalist and investment. He professedly explained each topic with a layman language and was easily understood by the audience.
Students enjoyed the session very much as the speaker made it a very interactive one. Students asked innumerable questions to clarify the doubts. Every question was amicably answered by the speaker.
He eventually delivered a comparative study between share market and derivative which was acknowledged by the audience with zest and zeal.
Ultimately, the session was concluded by a thanking note by Prof. R. P. Maheshwari, Director-General, JIMS.
Faculties, Staff members of JIMS participated and visited the stalls put by various financial services. The visitors from North-West Delhi visited the fair. Students of PGDM were associated with the companies to coordinate with them and to learn the marketing and selling techniques as they observed the interaction of the customers with the companies' executives. The fair came to an end at around 4 pm.

The event started at around 11 am on Sunday with a very beautiful weather.
25th was the day when the hard work done by the students showed their results. Students of PGDM did direct marketing from Monday till Friday. They interacted with the people in Rohini and near-by areas and communicated them about the event and their participation. It was the result of those efforts only which brought pretty good footfalls.
At noon, Seminar was started by one of our eminent speaker Mr. Rajeev Garg who is Deputy Manager, Investor service Cell. He has to his credit MBA from Pune University. Working since 6 years with BSE and handling investor grievances and complaints against listed companies and brokers. Given around 75 seminars on investor awareness and education. He gave brief of BSE and discussed various issues of finance sector.
The seminar was continued by another eminent speaker Mr. K.S. Mahesh. He is Bachelor of commerce with good experience in call centers. He has been working with MCX since 2.5 years handling all major business Corporate Brokers in Delhi and specialized in commodities like sugar, wheat.
He briefed us some information related to MCX as what it is, list of commodities added in it, information of returns and risks etc.
All I can summarize the session by one famous saying:
"You can take of a man's money, but when it's all said and done. You have only taken his money, when you take of a man's time; you have taken a part of his life."
