Jagan Institute of Management Studies proudly hosted the Zonal prelims of Anugoonj 2012, the Annual Cultural Festival of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for Zone-2 on 24th and 25th January, 2012

The Guest of honour for the event were (Hon) Prof. R. P. Maheshwari, Director General, JIMS; (Hon) Dr J.K. Goyal, Director, JIMS; (Hon.) Prof. (Dr.) V. B. Aggarwal, Director (Info Tech), JIMS. The Event was opened with lighting the lamp of wisdom followed by Saraswati Vandana.

The welcome speech was delivered by Prof. R. P. Maheshwari and further extended his best wishes to all the participating teams.

(Hon) Dr J.K. Goyal, further added “The underlying aim of ‘Anugoonj’, the youth cultural festival is to promote the hidden talent of the students”. Such events play a significant role to foster friendship and brotherhood among participating students.

(Hon.) Prof. (Dr.) V. B. Aggarwal, highlighted that “Students should learn to focus their energy and the importance of team work”.

A number of events and competitions including The Fashion Parade, Musical Events, Dance events, Dramatics, Fine arts, Literary events and Mr. & Ms. Anugoonj were a part of this Zonal fest, where around 17 affiliated institutes of GGSIP University including JIMS participated. Interesting topics were given to the students for the events. The topic for the Debate Competition was “Thanks to Social Networking Sites- there is no face to face interaction”, “62 years of Republic India” for painting competition, “Celebration” for Rangoli, “Nature & seasons” for Clay Modeling and “Politics, Corruption & Lokpal Bill” for collage competition.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Sunny Seth, Assistant Professor, JIMS (Anugoonj Zonal Coordinator) and he further extended his gratitude and sincere thanks to all the Student Coordinators of JIMS and Faculty members for their support and cooperation

The event turned out a huge success and ended with lot of applause, glimpse, glamour zest and zeal.
