Guest lecture on “How To Be Highly Successful in Today's Competitive World, Be an Effective and Respected Manager”
HR Club of Jagan Institute of Management Studies organised a guest lecture on “How To Be Highly Successful in Today's Competitive World, Be an Effective and Respected Manager.”( based on Stephen Covey -Seven Habits of Highly Successful People). The session was conducted by Mr Abhishek Nanda, Managing Director,Namahte Hospitality P.Ltd. and Associate Director, The Brewmaster -Moments Mall. The session was organised for PGDM -Gen and PGDM -IB students.
To be successful in todays world, one requires a great deal of hard work and perseverance and if the actions are converted into habits, success
is bound to come. This was the main focus of the entire lecture.
Mr Nanda elaborated on each of the seven habits with real life anecdotes and examples sharing his own experiences. The habits as given by Stephen Covey are, 1) Be proactive, 2) Begin with end in mind, 3) Put first things first, 4) Think win-win, 5) Seek first to understand,t hen to be understood, 6) Synergize, 7) Sharpen the saw. He further emphasized on mastering one of the habit first before moving on another one. The students discussed lot of issues pertaining to work ethics, good practices at workplace, matching aspirations with expectations.
Further Mr Nanda emphasized on practices which students can adopt in their life such as keeping themselves aware by reading and observing that will also contribute to their effectiveness.
It was a very fruitful and engaging session for the students.
