Interactive Session on "Fundamentals of Quantitative Valuation and Financial Modeling"

CORPORATE CONNECT @ JIMS

Jagan Institute of Management Studies organized an interactive session on the “Fundamentals of Quantitative Valuation and Financial Modeling ” on 16th November, 2013 for PGDM Batch 2013-2015 students. The key resource person of the session was Mr. Pratap Narayan Singh, Head – Assets Management, Copal Partner

The session started with a Mr. Narayana speaking about the quantitative tools for measuring the performance of financial asset or portfolio of business, project or any other investment. Further he highlighted the quantitative valuation types like Discounted Cash Flow, Ratio Analysis, Yield Analysis, Expected Value. He quoted the above methods as the numerical ways to determine valuation.

He also detailed the fundamentals of financial modeling and discussed the methods that help to make money in volatile markets. Further he added financial models can be constructed in many ways, either by the use of computer software, or with a pen and paper. What's most important, however, is not the kind of user interface used, but the underlying logic that encompasses the model.

Further the session was open to discussion for a Question Answer Round. Overall it was a great interactive and a learning experience for the students.
