FDP - Innovative Teaching Methods in Management

A faculty development Programme was organized by Jagan Institute of Management Studies, sector – 5, Rohini on 13th September, 2010 in the institute premises. The guest speaker for the day, Dr.O.P.Chopra, formerly Professor at the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, has been Dean FMS and has several publications in national and international journals and four books to his credit. His recent book co-authored with Prof. Abad Ahamd – ‘Passion to Win: How Winning Companies Develop and Sustain Competitive Edge’ has been hailed as the first book of its kind focused exclusively on the Indian business context for developing original and fresh insights into the factors that develop and sustain competitive edge. Dr. O.P. Chopra was welcomed by Prof. R.P. Maheshwari, Director general, JIMS.
The FDP was built around the theme of "INNOVATIONS IN TEACHING METHODS IN MANAGEMENT". The day began with a discussion on the key developments in the above mentioned area, and then progressed with his address on the issues and nuances associated with the case study method, simulation method, role playing and many more such techniques. At the end a question answer session resolved the queries of many faculty members present at the occasion. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. J.K. Goyal, Director, JIMS.
