Jagan Institute of Management Studies organized a Workshop on “Journey from Campus to Corporate” on 3rd and 6th July, 2013 for PGDM/PGDM IB and PGDM RM students. The workshop was conducted under the mentorship Prof S.C Kapoor, Professor, JIMS which described the aspect of learning qualities and dedication towards work.  The activity showcased a student’s commitment to work in the form of a role play. It was a situation based play where the students learnt the act of being transparent towards their mentors and their dedication towards their work. Activity described the essence that not managing your time and making excuses are two bad habits to be shun right from day one; “Do not put them together by claiming you do not have the time”. The exercise aimed at revealing the real nature of habits. The most interesting part of this role play was that freshers were inspired by the seniors to come and perform the role in a very natural way. The response was phenomenal. The program was conducted by the team of senior’s right from concept to execution. Various management methods were explained in a simple manner relating it to day to day life which stimulated enthusiasm coupled with curiosity to know more and to put the same in application.

The most attractive feature of this event was the very presence of alumni of JIMS Mr. Ankit Arora, Business Manager Reliance Communication, Mr. Gaurav Vashisth, Director Operations Panache Business Solutions and Ms. Aparjita Dhaumya, Consultant at Mancer Consulting India Ltd. The Alumni interacted with the freshers and addressed their queries in various areas. As a mark of deep association with our alumnus they were nominated as the jury to announce star discovery and budding potential amongst freshers, which was assessed through a series of structured criteria by the seniors. The winners were appreciated for their performance.   Also, since, it is popularly known that “Habits once formed correctly lead to forming a man of worth”, with this quote the students also participated in an oath ceremony.

Overall, the activity was fruitful and described the real essence of a student’s journey from Campus to Corporate.
